Career & Skill Development

We look to inspire career plans for the next generation of leaders.  Through exploratory career sessions, we expose our youth to a wide variety of career opportunities.  By partnering with our young scholars, we help them identify their interest and the skills needed to secure their place in the workforce.  Interview workshops, professional etiquette, goal setting, and job shadowing are just a few of the programs we utilize to create successful career paths.  While life becomes more complex and unpredictable, being prepared for the next steps doesn’t have to be.

Life Skills

Adapting to life at any age can be challenging unless you prepare for it.  Learning some of the most basic skills can lead to solving some of life’s’ most complicated problems.  A survey conducted by the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AACU) found that only 55 percent of students attending high school feel prepared to enter the real world.  Our goal is to educate students and equip them for successful journeys.  We provide tools to support the following:

  • Hygiene and Nutrition
  • Cooking and Cleaning
  • Automobile Maintenance
  • Healthy Money Mindsets

Supporting scholars with real life concepts, fun applications, and holding them accountable is our small investment towards a big return for their future.

One of the most key factors to a healthy self-image and positive mental health is having a mentor. A mentor is like a navigator provides guidance and direction to the mentee so they can be on the right life course.

According to (, youth who receive mentorship:

  • Have healthier relationship and lifestyles
  • See improvement in self-esteem
  • Increase in self confidence
  • Improve behavior at home and at school
  • Have a high probability of graduating from school
  • Are less likely to display violent behavior
  • See improvements in interpersonal skills

Our unique approach to mentorship, will allow scholars to connect with an individual who will be there to guide them, develop different skills, strategies and techniques that will help them. In addition to this, YES Academy, Inc. has incorporated The Maxwell Leadership Youth Program to assesses behavior and leadership skills to bridge the gap between the scholars, parents, teachers, community, etc.

Scholars will be able to start their own business through our 7-step program that will provide guidance from initiation to execution which includes learning curriculums and on-the-biz training.

College Prep

We provide our scholars with college prep assistance such as building their college portfolio to include college applications, admission, financing, tours, upward bound opportunities, SAT and ACT workshops.

Community Service

YES Academy, Inc. promotes increased awareness of the needs of their communities and the development of individuals. We are in partnership with local organizations and schools to offer this program. Scholars will be able to receive community service credit hours as a part of their scholar portfolio.

Financial Literacy

Financial literacy is key to lifelong financial health. Those who are aware of this are well prepared for the fiscal challenges and responsibilities that come with adulthood. Sadly, most educational systems in the US, have failed to prepare our youth for this responsibility.

A survey done by the Council for Economic Education, showed that 26 out of 50 states including Washington DC do not require a high school personal finance course. In addition to this, 27 out of 50 states received a grade of C, D, or F when it came to the financial literacy level of their high school students.

At YES Academy, we aim to change the status quo through our 6-step program. As they progress, they will learn:

  • How to save money
  • Budget responsibly
  • Borrow smartly
  • Grow their income exponentially
  • Build an asset portfolio
  • Protect their income and assets
